The Notre Dame Hounds have signed goaltender Jesse Pye from the Vancouver Island Junior ‘B’ Hockey League’s Victoria Cougars.
Pye, 18, posted a record of 17-6-1 in last year’s regular season with his hometown club, and was spectacular in the Hounds’ pre-season finale Saturday at the Estevan Bruins.
Standing at 6-foot-1, and 175 pounds, Pye spent time at training camp with the Western Hockey League’s Victoria Royals this season, though did not appear in any games.
He also featured in one British Columbia Hockey League game a campaign ago with the Cowichan Valley Capitals.
Pye played finished his minor hockey career with the South Island Royals U18AAA, where he spent a season as a teammate of fellow Hound Cyprus Smith-Davis.
